About the Homestay Experience
Aapshawara Community Dalit Homestay, established in 2016 with support from Hands-On Institute, is a pioneering initiative and the first Dalit homestay community in Nepal. Comprising 19 houses run by members of the Dalit community, historically considered “untouchables” this homestay offers a truly authentic and transformative cultural experience.
Guests can immerse themselves in the community’s way of life while taking part in traditional skill workshops, including mud ornament making, iron craft, bamboo work, and learning local musical instruments. The homestay also features a community hall with capacity for up to 35 guests, making it an ideal venue for group programs, cultural exchanges, and workshops.
If you would like to create a customized program along with the homestay experience for yourself, your group, or organization, please write to us at the address below or fill out the inquiry form by clicking the “Inquire Now” button, and our team will get back to you shortly.
