Social Impact & Community Engagement Internships
Program Overview
Education
Our Community & Non-Profit Internships in education aim to tackle the challenges faced by rural schools in Nepal, where limited resources and language barriers often hinder students’ ability to succeed in foundational subjects like science and math. The Urban-Rural Teaching Fellowship addresses these challenges by empowering local teachers and students through bilingual education, helping to bridge the gap between urban and rural learning environments.
Interns will work alongside rural teachers, students, and community leaders to enhance educational outcomes. Whether through supporting bilingual curricula, developing creative teaching resources, or directly engaging with students, this internship creates meaningful, hands-on learning opportunities. Interns may assist in designing science and math lesson plans that cater to local needs, improving student comprehension, and fostering a love for learning despite resource constraints.
By immersing themselves in local classrooms and communities, interns will gain a deep understanding of the educational gaps that exist in rural Nepal and contribute to building sustainable, contextually relevant solutions that empower students and educators alike. This experience is ideal for those passionate about improving education access and making a long-term impact on the future of rural students.

Whether it’s designing and implementing health education campaigns, working on sanitation and hygiene initiatives, or conducting research in rural health settings, interns will collaborate closely with community health workers, local governments, and other stakeholders to create real, positive change.
Through this hands-on experience, interns will gain a deep understanding of the public health challenges facing Nepal’s diverse communities and contribute to sustainable, community-driven solutions.
